THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25TH!!

A full day of fun for kid’s and adults with events that celebrate the season!!
COSTUME CONTEST
Starts at 2:00pm for ages 14 and under. All costumed kids will be reviewed by our celebrity panel of judges, and the winner will receive a complimentary birthday party at Monster Mini Golf!
At 3:00pm ages 15+ compete for a wonderful shopping spree at the Shop Downcity boutiques. Just in time for some Holiday shopping.
LIVE MUSIC ALL DAY
The Bourbon Boys, a local bluegrass band, perform at 2:00pm
Bertrand Laurance, a french singer-songwriter, goes on at 4pm and plays until 6pm.
Come get down with some great local talent.
SEASONAL FOOD AND BREW
Downcity restaurants have prepared a number of goodies to temp the taste buds. Try one of everything and don’t miss the beer garden featuring seasonal brews and warm siders and coffees!
CRAFT ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS
Pumpkin painting and face painting from 2:00-6:00pm.
LOCAL FARMERS
Support local farmers and get some wonderful harvest items and delicious foods to bring home.
LOCAL ARTISTS
A number of local artists of many trades will be selling their creations at the festival. A good opportunity for early holiday shopping.
BRING A CARVED JACK-O-LANTERN
Bring a carved jack-o-lanter to the festival and we’ll give you a free pass to Monster Mini Golf. When it gets dark we’ll light them all together!
TRICK-OR-TREAT ON WESTMINSTER ST.
The shops along Westminster St, and Eddy St. will be handing out candies and other goodies to children all day long.
MOVIES ON THE BLOCK: BEETLEJUICE
The last screening of the season begins at dusk. Bring blankets because its bound to be chilly!

A giant thank you is in order for all those that made the trek to the opening party through Waterfire traffic, RISD parent-weekend mayhem and every street blockade possible. Good work. A full day of fun for kid’s and adults with events that celebrate the season. The Costume Contest is sure to bring about some interesting creatures. Starting at 2pm children ages 0-14 compete to win a complimentary birthday party from Monster Mini Golf. The celebrity judges include Mario Hilario, from WJAR 10, Lynne McCormak from the mayors office, DJ’s from WBRU, and Christina from Monster Mini Golf.
The Costume Contest continues at 3pm for all of you 15 years of age and older. This time the prize is a fantastic shopping spree at your favorite Downcity stores. If you wow the judges with your wicked digs, and evil ways, you’ll be lucky enough to have some spending sprees just in time for holiday shopping.
Live music from the Bourbon Boys, a local bluegrass band, and Bertrand Laurance, a french singer-songwriter, will begin at 2pm and go until 6pm. Come get down with seasonal jams and some brews.
The kid’s are sure to enjoy the complimentary face painting being offered from 2pm-6pm. If you don’t have a costume for the contest, no worries, you can pick one up across the street at Rhode Island Costume, and have your face professionally painted at the festival.
Pumpkin painting and other fun activities for kids will begin at 2pm and run all day.
Don’t fret if there are no little kiddies in your life, you can still come and enjoy wonderful food for sale from some of your favorite Downcity restaurants including Gracie’s, Farmstead, Aspire, Benders and Tazza. And of course, it wouldn’t be a harvest festival without seasonal brews flowing freely. If its gets chilly warm up with some cider and sit back and enjoy the great fall season.
If you’re feeling creative, bring a carved pumpkin down to the festival by 5pm and enter it into our group jack-o-lantern lighting. Not only will you get to participate in this community lighting of Downcity, but with each pumpkin you contribute you will receive a free pass to Monster Mini Golf.
Finally, the day wraps up with the last screening of Movies on the Block for the year with Beetlejuice at 6:00. This classic is good for the kid’s but better even for grown-ups.
