When I hit the end of a long work day, there are usually two things I want: a drink, and a snack. Aspire Restaurant, 311 Westminster St., offers both, with a special discounted menu from 4pm-7pm, Monday-Thursday. They have 1$, 3$ and 5$ food items, ranging from jumbo shrimp cocktail, to stuffies, to artisan pizza’s, and of course a full bar. Visit their website for a full “Weekday Wind Down” menu. A great place to socialize, wait out the rush hour traffic, and let go of the day…head over there, get some great cheap eats, and take a load off!

Having always been a Shakespeare fan, Im excited to see Trinity Rep put on Twelfth Night, coming up this month. “Shakespeare’s topsy-turvy tale of love and laughter. Shipwrecked, orphaned, separated from her twin brother, disguised as a man in a hostile country – when Viola thinks things can’t get worse, she falls for her new boss, the Duke.” Directed by Brian McEleney. In the Chace Theater.

6pm: Author kate Schapira will be at Symposium Books on Thursday, February 25th at 6pm to read poems from her book Town. Kate Schapira asked about a hundred people to describe an imaginary town. She built the contributions of those who responded into poems that explore how we live differently in the same world, who we mean when we say we, what we mean when we say here.
