Providence Cutting Sessions: Jazz Program at AS220

I used to play the trumpet… a long time ago. I wish I still had the chops to sit in on one of AS220’s ‘Providence Cutting Sessions”, a gathering of local jazz musicians performing new and original jazz compositions, where folks are encouraged to come, and join in on stage, or just appreciate the music. The program hopes to inspire people to contribute to and support a local jazz community, with the idea that historically cutting sessions ‘…offered musicians the opportunity to “cut their teeth.”… these sessions gave musicians a chance to get their experience in a real life situation of performing jazz on stage, with professionals, in front of an audience.’ It happens every third Sunday of the month, from 5-8pm. All instruments are welcome. For only 5$, it’s a great way to spend a Sunday evening, hear some great music, and if you play something, join in and be part of it all.
